More Than Words depends on your book, CD's, DVD's, and Video Games donations to grow, thrive and employ and empower youth! Here are some of the ways your books help us move our business and our lives forward.
Books, CDs, DVDs, Video Games are our Building Blocks:
More Than Words holds us to a high standard, and that influence helps us stay out of trouble. Before MTW a lot of us were on the streets making poor decisions, and now we’re running a business and taking charge of our lives!
Working at More Than Words has given us the opportunity to learn all parts of the book business, from the discerning differences between a novel and memoir so we can classify the books we receive to skills related to customer service, operating a register and shipping books all over the world.
We also learn what it means to be professional, especially when public speaking, conducting tours, and hosting events. With books and MTW's high expectations and support, we can gain job skills and experience, get our diploma or GED and move on to jobs, college and a good life.
Your Books, CDs, DVDs, Video Games Help Sustain More Than Words:
Not only do we learn skills by selling books, but the earned revenue also makes it possible for More Than Words to exist. The revenue not only helps pay for the rent and our team’s paychecks, but also enables MTW to provide us workshops that teach us how to budget our money, plan our education, and build a resume. We also go on site visits to learn more about different companies and colleges; even things as simple as touring a college campus or vocational school can help us determine our future goals. Without MTW we wouldn’t know about these options.
