Events at More Than Words

Events at More Than Words provide us with a forum to learn important profession skills, such as public speaking, hosting, contacting various performers, and ensuring that our events are successfully marketed and executed.

Every event helps us to grow, and in return we enthusiastically appreciate all opportunities to open our storefront to community members.

We are very proud of the More Than Words bookstore & café, and hope that you will join us to browse our book selection, enjoy a café drink, or attend one of our many exciting events!

Resiliency & Hope: A Conversation with Anita Diamant

Join MTW in welcoming back Anita Diamant to share with us her new book, DAY AFTER NIGHT, shares stories, and answers questions posed by our youth hosts.

Set in 1945, in the summer immediately following the end of World War II in Europe, DAY AFTER NIGHT tells the stories of four young Jewish women -- survivors of four different kinds of hell. They make their way to the land of Israel where they confront an uncertain future haunted by the past.

The protagonists -- Leonie, Tedi, Shayndel and Zorah -- are interned when they arrive, locked up behind barbed wire fences in a place called Atlit, a prison camp run by the British, who ruled Palestine at the time. In Atlit, the women meet and befriend one another as they grapple with a new life in a new land.

Special Reception: Immediately following the book reading, Anita will be our honored guest at a reception at Solea Restaurant.  Drinks and Hors D'oeuvres will be served. Space is limited, so reserve in advance! Ticket price: $100.To reserve your space, please email  Jennifer Stewart - jennifer@mtwyouth.org - or call 781-788-0035.
