A COST-EFFECTIVE MODEL

Our youth are not just passive recipients in a program - they are active contributors, offsetting a portion of the cost of this experience with every book they ship out or sell in our store.  By learning to run their businesses, they are helping to cover over 30% of the organization’s budget, which makes a positive return on investment for donors who are looking to make a big difference with their gifts.

When youth succeed in an empowering experience at MTW, society avoids the cost of the alternative path for many of these youth.  Keeping a young person in locked facilities comes with a price tag of approximately $70,000 per youth per year. Not only does MTW save society from these expensive alternatives, just think about the factorial effect and value added to society when a youth transitions to adulthood and contributes as an employee, tax payer, family member and as a contributor in the community.
