Rebecca Langweber, a student at Bentley and the managing editor of their newspaper, The Vanguard, wrote an article about our annual Shop-a-Thon, and it was published in the Waltham News Tribune! Big thanks to Rebecca and the Waltham News Tribune for helping to make our Shop-a-Thon a great success!
In October, DGI Invisuals wrapped our van and we are so happy with the way it turned out. After learning about our business and our mission, they also decided to run a book drive for us across their entire office park, which includes over 80 buildings! On August 26th the owner of The Elephant Walk restaurant, Robert Perry, vsited More Than Words. For the month of July, The Elephant Walk donated 3% of their earnings to MTW, so we were extremely grateful and excited to have Robert visit our store. He was given a tour of MTW and saw how the youth run a business as well as work to move their lives forward. He was very impressed with how the store is run and how professional the youth are. Youth employees of More Than Words find new work in café “exhilarating”, and now have an opportunity to gain professional development skills while providing a community space complete with Starbucks brewed café.

More Than Words expands job training program to include café – now offering delicious Starbucks brewed drinks and treats in addition to the vast selection of donated books.
