As a youth team, we manage our own bookstore 20–30 hours per week. We facilitate employee training and weekly team meetings, track and forecast the financials for the business, and manage sales—both online and in the store.  We give tours, plan and host monthly open-mic events and community workshops. 

As we earn promotions, we even earn the responsibility of project management and public speaking. We also use our creativity to manage marketing and promotions.  

Working in the store we have the opportunity to practice our customer service skills through interactions with customers in the store and cafe.

Through the BUSINESS job, we learn marketable and transferable job skills, including public speaking, technology, inventory management, as well as critical professional skills such as showing up on time and working as a team.
