GET INVOLVED

Our youth show up to More Than Words every day, working hard to take charge of their business and their lives. They would love to show you how it’s done. There are many ways for you to join the More Than Words team to support their business and personal goals.

Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Dedicated individual volunteers make a weekly commitment to More Than Words and form strong relationships with our youth. Book Lovers join youth on their Business Job, working alongside them sorting and processing books. Education Coaches support youth on their YOU Job, tutoring youth on modules, resumes, mock interviews, and more. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss these roles and whether ongoing volunteering at MTW is right for you!

Volunteer Events for Groups or Corporate Team-Building

Volunteering as a group at More Than Words is a dynamic, hands-on activity that will advance our mission, promote team-building, and include the chance to meet and talk with our youth about their business. During your time with us, you will help MTW youth on their business job: sorting books, processing orders, and picking books to sell in our storefronts. Your team will see that they accomplished a lot to help our youth hit their goals!

Book Drives

Run a drive at your work, school, place of worship, or in your community and collect books for our youth-run business! All of our books are donated and you can help fuel our enterprise and spread the word about our efforts. We make it easy for you: we’ll drop off supplies and come pick up the books when you’re done.

Support Us

All contributions of books and funds go right to help us employ and empower young people.

I know what it’s like to be involved with the courts, to have family locked up, and to nearly be locked up myself. I always wanted to join the military or get another job, and couldn’t because of my history, but MTW hired me. In fact, they hired me twice. I messed up and was given the opportunity to get myself together and come back. This job is a great stepping stone for anyone who want to advance a career, to get things together in their personal life. Here, you’re part of a good thing, you feel like you have a purpose in the world, and your part of building something so that other youth can follow and have the same experience.
